*Gross sobbing* I miss these two so Much!!!!
Captain Maldonado was absolutely successful in most aspects of her life (Some elements of her personnel life not withstanding) and she was always right about certain things, nobody could convince her otherwise. One of those things that she was always right about was her people, the department detectives who trusted her and looked up to her, sp when she specifically chose the DRN Dorian to partner with John Kennex, one of her more difficult detectives, she knew what she was doing even if John doubted. She didn’t choose Dorian at random with all of the other DRNs about to be shipped off to work elsewhere, he was special and he was just what John Kennex needed, Sandra Maldonado just wasn’t wrong about this.
Granted at first she got a little worried when they would have the shouting matches in the middle of the department but Dorian refused to be treated like a second class citizen and John was stubborn in his old fashioned ways. Even then though, They worked great together and kept each other in line even if it meant a few heated words. It was at this point that Sandra began to accept the bets going around the department. They ranged from “John’s going to throw him into traffic like the MX” (Mostly with the younger officers that didn’t work with Kennex) To “They’ll work together for about a year before they both get sick of each other and get reassigned.” (That was mostly with the people who worked with the pair) and everything in between. However, everyone laughed and assumed that she was joking when Maldonado put 100$ on “Married within two years” but she knew her detectives better than anyone.
Eventually, it was easy to see that their relationship was only getting better as their heated arguments slowly faded into just playful bickering and they were seen together not just in the department. Sandra was now completely confident in her predictions and her ability to know exactly what was best for the detectives especially a detective that she cared so much about like John. As she worked with Dorian throughout the year the more she could help but think about just how perfect a choice the DRN was for John. At this point, the younger officers were paying up the lost bet to the senior detectives who waved the victory around for a lot longer than they should have. However, even they began to get nervous as John and Dorian became even closer. Sandra gave the team an opportunity to withdrawal their bets before they lost embarrassingly but nobody took the offer, they were still confident that the two’s time was going to end very soon.
There came another bout of fighting between the two detectives and for the first time since this had all started Maldonado began to feel little shivers of doubt in her choice, not that she told anyone. She never knew what they were fighting about, she would just see the pair yelling at each other through her office and unfortunately she could also see the smug looks on her detective’s faces. Thankfully the smug faces went away pretty quickly when the two showed up one morning together and Dorian was wearing one of Johns shirts. Maldonado just leaned back in her chair for a second and smiled as if it was her brilliant plan that was coming together beautifully.
It became a silent truth that the two were in a relationship now but Maldonado still had not won her bet the other detectives were still holding that it wouldn’t last much longer. But most of them were too close to see everything that the Captain could see from her office view into the main building. Those things like John buying a hair roller and setting it on his desk so that in the morning he could catch the cat hair from his clothes or Dorian walking up and rubbing Johns shoulders for just a small moment before he went on his way. Her face lit up in a huge grin when John fell over a chair and Dorian caught him gently and they hovered together for a few stolen moments before he put the detective back on his feet. She felt like some sort of genius cupid as their relationship bloomed, bringing out the best in both of them .
And finally here they were, a year and seven months later, an engagement E-Mail had been sent out and Captain Maldonado was happily collecting her winnings from the bet. At this point, however, most of the team were already rooting for the couple and very happy to hear the news, that is until they had to fork over the money to their smug looking Captain. After collecting from everyone she went back to her office and happily counted her winnings thinking about how she was going to have no problem buying a gift for her two detectives.
There was a knock at her door and she looked up to see John Kennex standing outside her office, she motioned for him to come in. He walked in unusually silent for him and she stood up and walked over to congratulate him with a handshake but she was shocked when he looked right past her hand and just enveloped her in a hug. She stopped for a second but then hugged back, smiling, severely proud of her once “Hopeless” Detective and of her self for setting him up.
“Thank you.”
She nodded and patted his arm before circling around to her desk, he made his way to the door and opened it to leave but stopped halfway out, the classic John Kennex look back on his face.
“Yeah, thanks a lot. Thanks to you I have to put up with that cat loving android.”
He paused, smiling and then added in a dramatic whisper,
“Forever.”

My first Prompted Skimmons Fanfiction
Heyy!!! I'm really excited about this particular Skimmons fanfiction because on of the blogs that I follow asked me to write it, I've already posted it on Tumblr and she seemed to really like it, anyway, It's not what I usually do (Any one who knows me knows why) but I really enjoyed writing it, nonetheless.
The News
It was an intense situation as the team tried desperately to hold on to something as The Bus rocked and did things that an aircraft that size should never do but at least May was keeping them ahead of the bad guys that they had just pissed off. Coulson was up front with May but the rest of them were grasping desperately at the table in the briefing room. Jemma and Fitz were punching buttons and yelling out different algorithms while Skye did her best to take down the firewalls blocking them as the tried to get the blue prints from the computer to help them take down the people chasing them. Ward just held on waiting for an opportunity to help with an expression that suggested that he was completely done with everything.
Eventually they got the right information and it was beginning to work until there was one last jolt within the ship and the team all yelled simultaneously as they felt the aircraft begin to drop violently out of the air. All they could do was hold on and hope that May and Coulson could get the craft back under control before it hit the ground.
Jemma and Skye leaned over the console and grabbed each others wrists, screaming periodically as they spiraled out of control. Jemma pulled on the other woman’s wrists and began to yell across as loud as she could to try to be heard over the obnoxious wind.
“SKYE!?”
“YEAH?”
“I’M PREGNANT!”
Despite the chaos going on around them, everything in Skye’s face stopped as she stared wide eyed and panicked at the scientist.
“WHAT?!”
“I’M PREGNANT!”
‘YEAH, I GOT THAT!”
Jemma screamed as The bus took another sharp jolt to the side and terror flashed across Skye’s eyes. Despite looking absolutely disoriented and confused, when the next jolt happened she let it push her over the side and slid over the counter to where Jemma was standing. She nearly fell backwards into the cabinets but caught herself on the edge, she could feel her fingers popping as she held on through the force of the wind.
Jemma pulled her back by her arm and Skye went straight from the unbalanced position she was holding near the edge of the console to Jemma. Skye wrapped her arms around Jemma’s middle, much to the scientist’s surprise and dragged her down underneath the console. She laid over her girlfriend, and used her legs to keep them from moving as she protected Jemma’s head and body from the elements.
There was one last downturn that had the whole team screaming in terror and then The bus’ movements leveled out. Nobody moved until they felt the aircraft landing with another quick jolt. Everyone breathed out and let go of their death grips on the table. Skye fell off of Jemma and then wobbled her way to a standing position holding out a hand for Simmons and helping her up. Jemma had her hand over her mouth and tears were falling down over her fingers in complete adoration of her girlfriends actions.
“Skye, I-I can’t believe.. That was precious. You protected us.”
Skye smiled and stroked Jemma’s face lovingly.
“I’m so happy.”
Then she added, her words slurring severely
“ ’his wassa test wan’ it”
She giggled and then her eyes rolled back into her head and she fell backwards, Jemma gasped as Ward clumsily caught her and gently led her down to the floor looking up at the scientist.
“That was a terrible time to tell someone something like that!”
“I’m sorry! I panicked!”
Then Ward added dryly
“Congratulations by the way.”
New Apartment
The door of a very plain looking apartment swung open and a very tired looking Skye walked through holding at least five bags. She stumbled over to a corner and dropped them heavily before dramatically falling to the floor where she laid breathing heavily for a while. Jemma came in behind her with her arms crossed and her lips pursed. She had the common glow of a pregnant woman but she wasn’t really showing yet.
“I could have gotten one of those.”
“No, you’re not allowed to carry anything heavy, remember. And plus, you carried the bread.”
Jemma pulled a single loaf of bread out of the purse on her elbow.
“You at least could have taken two trips.”
Skye rolled over on the new soft carpet.
“Two trips are for weaklings.”
Jemma went over and sat down on the floor next to Skye, she sighed and laid her head down over the other woman’s legs.
“Well, here we are. Our new home, what do you think?”
Skye looked around for the first time.
“It’s kinda beige-y, don’t you think?”
Jemma chuckled
“We’ll paint it and decorate it. Speaking of, when are they bringing the furniture?”
Skye shrugged
“I don’t know, hopefully soon though. Have you called the team to tell them that we got in alright?”
“Yeah, I called Fitz while you were trying to carry every bag we own to the apartment.”
“Pfft…Tried? I totally did. I’m wonder Woman, Didn’t you know?”
Jemma giggled and turned over to face Skye.
“Really? Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Well, you know, I had to keep my secret identity… Secret.. And stuff.”
They both laughed and Jemma leaned in to kiss Skye even though they were both giggling through the kiss.
Skye sat up quickly.
“Ugh! Where are they? I would love a bed right now! If you know what I mean.”
She nudged the scientist insinuatingly and Jemma rolled her eyes.
“Well, let’s go out to eat to pass the time, I’m hungry and all we have is this loaf of bread you insisted on buying.”
“Fine.”
Skye stood up and helped Jemma on her feet then kissed her as she bumped into her on her way up.
“You know it’d be easier if we just ate the bread”
“We are not, we’re leaving.”
Jemma walked past her girlfriend smiling to the door and Skye followed behind.
“Ugh fine… You’re the pregnant one, I guess.”
“You know, you wouldn’t be so tired if you hadn’t carried ALL of our bags up at once.”
They shut the door to their plain new home, leaving it empty and dark.
Baby Names
“We are not naming our daughter after a dead scientist, Jem!”
Jemma huffed sitting on their comfy couch, she was in sweats and a loose shirt and there was now a noticeable bump. She was surrounded by many books, some of them were history/ science/ mathematics books and the rest were baby name books and that was the one she was flipping through at the moment. Their house, now decorated, was light and open with a couch and two chairs that made up the living room along with many framed pictures of their team and themselves. Skye had been caught off guard by how much Jemma enjoyed taking pictures of everything and then framing it all but she kind of enjoyed having all the people that she loved faces’ on the walls so she just stayed back and let Jemma nit pick over the placement of every single frame.
Skye walked in from the kitchen holding two glasses of tea and handing one of them to her girlfriend.
“Why not?”
Skye slumped onto the parallel chair since Jemma had filled the couch up with her volumes’ of library books. She pulled her laptop up onto her knee and turned it on. They had been looking for the right name for what seemed like hours.
“Because, they’re all dead and have weird names.”
Jemma continued to flip through pages while Skye scrolled on her computer.
“What about Jamie?”
Jemma put her book down and looked at her questioningly.
“Why Jamie?”
Skye shrugged and looked over her screen.
“I don’t know, It’s a cool name. You don’t like it?”
“It’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just I want her to have a name with personnel meaning to us.”
Skye put her laptop to the side and leaned forward, thinking hard.
“Okay, what about ‘Elizabeth‘? That was the name of my imaginary friend at St. Agnes and it’s always been one of my favorite names.”
“Aw, that’s sweet.. But what about Chloe?”
Skye wobbled her hand in an “Eh” movement and Jemma leaned back and sighed, she was frowning and her shoulders were obviously tense.
“We need to figure out a name for her!”
Jemma threw one of the books next to her on the ground and then winced when it hit the carpet with a loud thud. Skye got up and made her way to the couch, she moved a couple piles of books on to the floor and plopped down next to Jemma with a concerned expression.
“Hey, hey, we don’t have to have a name for her right this minute, we’ve got plenty of time. We don’t even have to name her until she’s born, you know technically. Come here, you’re stressing and you don’t need to be.”
Jemma smiled and moved over to lean back onto Skye’s lap while she massaged her pregnant girlfriend’s tense shoulders, occasionally putting a hand on her protruding belly.
“You need to relax, baby, we’ve got time.”
“I know, I just like being prepared.”
“I know you do, sweetie.”
Skye put her head down and rested her lips on Jemma’s forehead while the scientist closed her eyes and enjoyed the massage and the feel of Skye’s cool lips on her hot forehead.
Nursery
Skye walked into their apartment, holding a bag of groceries and made her way to the kitchen to put them up when she stopped halfway when she heard the bickering voices coming from the other room. She set the bag on the little coffee table and walked into what was going to be her daughter’s bedroom. The door was open and she jumped when she walked in at the slightly unnerving and slightly hilarious sight in front of her. Jemma was standing holding a paintbrush looking guilty, she was wearing a clean white apron that fit over her much larger stomach while Fitz stood next to her completely soaked in light pink paint. He was pouting slightly while the paint dripped from his curly hair and pooled in and around his shoes.
“You guys had one job!”
Fitz pointed at Jemma, his bright pink coloring making it very hard for Skye to take him seriously since he now looked like a big toddler who had just gotten into his parent’s supplies.
“She’s a bloody monster!”
Jemma turned to her pastel partner.
“Oh come on, I didn’t mean for the bucket to fall! I was just trying to flick some paint on you! Stop acting like a child”
“I‘m not acting like a child you‘re acting like a child!”
Skye was now laughing uncontrollably at the two bickering scientists, they both had degrees in highly advanced sciences and here they were, arguing like children. It was to good of a moment for Skye to pass up as she pulled out her phone and snapped a picture of the pretty pink Fitz.
“I’m sending this to everyone.”
Fitz stepped forward to try to get the phone from Skye when she put a finger up and stepped outside the door.
“Uh-uh, man, you’re not getting on our carpet dripping in paint, I’ll go get you some clothes to change into.”
Fitz nodded and then they heard the entertained voice from outside the nursery.
“After I send this to everybody I know! Aha!”
The Kick
Jemma sat slouch on their sofa, tapping her foot lightly on the floor. Her baby belly was now taking up much of her torso and the little scientist looked like she was going to burst. She rubbed her stomach lightly and hummed as she waited for Skye to get home. Luckily she didn’t have to wait for long before her girlfriend came through the door holding a bunch of randomly colored bags. It seemed like lately she always had some kind of bag in her hand whether it was a food bag or a bag full of baby stuff and she was getting good at balancing several things at a time.
“Hey! There are my girls! How are you feeling, babe?”
Jemma shrugged her shoulders a little
“Eh, I’m tired and I’m bored. But mostly I’m hungry.”
“Well you are in luck, I brought food.”
Jemma’s eyes lit up as Skye pulled a bag out of a bigger bag and then picked out a few more little bags taking them over to her girlfriend.
“I got everything you’ve been craving.”
She started doling out different bits of food.
“Did you get the chocolate shake?”
Jemma asked sweetly.
“Got you covered.”
She handed her the blue plastic cup with a big straw.
“I even got that weird sandwich that you wanted, I didn’t really know what it was called but I handed the guys a list of the ingredients. They thought I was crazy at first but then I told them that you were pregnant and they were like ‘Why didn’t you say so?’ and I got half price.”
Skye chuckled, apparently proud of the bargain that she made.
“You’re the best, baby. Thank you so much”
Skye inspected the various random food in the many different bags that she was holding.
“You have got some weird cravings.”
“I know, I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize it’s kinda cute.”
Skye set the bags on the table next to Jemma who was already grabbing fries out of the bag and munching on them. She walked around and plopped on the couch stomach first, laying her head on Jemma’s big pregnant belly as she ate. They stayed like that for a while with Jemma eating her weird food and Skye laying with her head and hand on the scientist’s stomach until Skye’s head jerked upwards and she let out a little gasp. Jemma got scared for a moment.
“What’s wrong?”
Skye looked at her girlfriend with a wide eyed and excited face before she laid her head back on the tummy.
“She kicked, jem!”
“Yeah she’s never been a big mover but she’s been kicking all day.”
“Well, I didn’t know that!”
Jemma couldn’t help but laugh at Skye’s amazed face as she waited for another kick, even if Jem couldn’t have felt it she would have known given that Skye jumped when it happened again.
“Oh my God, Jemma, this is awesome! I have to tell somebody!”
Skye jumped up but not before she put her hand on the scientist’s belly one more time only to freak out again whenever the baby moved again. She leapt from the sofa and pulled out her cell phone.
“Who are you calling?”
Skye shrugged happily
“I have no idea but it’s ringing.”
Jemma laughed and dipped another fry into her shake, completely entertained by her girlfriends antics.
“Hey, hello? War-Ward is that you? Yeah, yeah guess what? Is that gun fire? Oh well.. Guess what! She just kicked! Yeah! I guess she’s been kicking all day! I know right! Yeah. Yeah, I’ll let you get back to your mission. Okay. She kicked, Ward! Uh-huh.. Yeah. Bye!”
Skye clicked the phone and then jumped straight in the air laughing while Jemma looked on, completely amused by this scene. She just could not contain her excitement anymore, that much was obvious. She started pacing back and forth from the kitchen to the living room chattering enthusiastically. She stopped and then put her hands on the coffee table in front of Jemma with a huge grin on her face.
“We. Are. Going. To. Be. The. Greatest parents ever!”
The Baby
Skye tried her hardest to keep her tears from getting out of control as she stood next to her now wife, laying in the hospital bed holding the beautiful little infant that was all theirs now. Jemma was staring down at the little face, her face was red and her eyes were watery but she was smiling beautifully. Skye put her hand on the scientist’s damp hair and stroked for a little while, the team hadn’t been able to be there but she was sure that they were going to be coming soon enough and she smiled thinking about the crazy family that this little girl was going to have and also how nothing would ever dare touch her knowing the kind of protection that was going to surround her daughter.
A nurse came in and handed Skye a clip board, it was the birth certificate and all that she needed to do was print her daughter’s name. She looked at Jemma who nodded, they didn’t really have to discuss the name, looking at the little baby’s face they knew exactly what they were going to call her without talking. Skye took a deep breath and printed the name
“Chloe Elizabeth Simmons”

Expectations
I have always thought, well not always, but for sometime now, thought that expectations are complete crap, predictions, no matter how educated they are, can never account for every human factor, for every unknown. Which is why I never assume anything about a given day, I mean, there are a lot of things that I can guess or even expect. For example, if I'm having a particularly good morning I generaly say that by the time I go to bed that night, I won't be feeling very well. I have no idea if this bit of information holds any merit but I do know that it has proven to be reliable in my alterations of plans and therefore I stick pretty closely to this idea even though it's something assumptuous and rather naive. I wish I knew why this works but I don't, it's just something that I have kept track of for quite a while. I don't know if that's a prediction or a stupidly preconceived expectation or if it's just a tidbit of information that I can guess about my own emotional pattern, no matter the various elements that cross my path throughout the rest of the day.
As humans, making expectations constantly throughout the day about things that are both important and unimportant to us is basically what makes up our thought process (At least it is for me). We just constantly judge based on what we've just thought so whenever nothing comforms to what we just figured out, our days are saddened just a little bit because it's expectations that make the assumption that our expectations should be accurate and they rarely are. Our expectations are what give us the warm fuzzy omnipotent feeling that makes us feel like little underworshiped gods, running around knowing exactly what is about to happen because we're intelligent and we're the masters of our universes. Which we're not, we're a very stupid and foolhardy species. The Doctor knows that, he likes us for our more charming traits, certainly not the traits that we pride ourselves on.
Some expectations are really big, bordering on huge and these usually have something to do with elements of our desired future... Which are always all wrong at every given moment that you're thinking about them. However, some expectations are small and these are the ones that we really need to be correct because these are our favorites, these are the ones that make our days go smoothly and sweetly. Much like the little disapointment in expectations that I had today, I was looking out the window of my college eating area, wrapped up in my own little world (Which is where people like me usually are since it's so rainbow-y and charming up there) and I saw some students walking around the patio with clip boards. They were asking people questions and from what I observed I figured that they were doing a petition for something. I got very excited, You see, I love the feeling of adventure and the little adrenaline rush that comes with talking to people that I expect to talk to and do so according to the very detailed script that I've already got prepared for the conversation, so I made an expectation for the following walk that I was about to take from the student center to the library. It went something like this; I would walk out the doors, they would engage me, ask me to sign something, then I would sign whatever it was and I would have a little moment of connection with a stranger, finally, I would walk away to the library with that warm and satisfied smile on my face. That didn't happen at all, even though I got the process right I didn't get the reason correct, it wasn't a petition it was something that I couldn't sign and without the completion of that one last step, everything fell apart and I walked back to the library feeling empty and emotional all over a slightly miscalculated expectation. When I look back on this day tonight, that one little misstep is going to over shadow a lot of other parts that made up this particular day.
Oh well, though, that's life, just like I always expect to be good at anecdotes but then when I go to write them, they never turn out as good as I was expecting. Perhaps I'll break another expectation of mine on purpose to give myself the illusion of control that got crushed due to this little insignifigant event. You see, we're all for broken expectations as long as WE'RE the ones doing the breaking because we're humans and we have a natural need to know that we don't know everything so that we can tell ouselves that we know everything because we want to know everything. Ha! I just totally Jack Sparrowed that sentence.. I love it when that happens.
We're never going to quit this habit, I do know that, but perhaps if we alter the expectations to a human level it wouldn't be so bad. Unfortunatly its easy to argue with that pessimistic attitude towards expectations. We want to be positive about this whole thing so another methods is just to always make grand expectations, you know, so it doesn't take away from your "Dreams" and that is a sweet outlook. On the other hand another popular one is the phrase "No expectations. No disapointements." (They do a really good job exploring the merit of that one in the movie "Dodgeball" with Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller (Along with a big bunch of funny actors)) I'm a little bit more partial to that one seeing that it's technically true even though it has a bit of a lazy undertone that most of us try to avoid.
Anyway, I don't know if I have a point with this, it's just something that I wanted to mention (Plus I had an easy anecdote right at my fingertips and it's stupid to waste those) I guess, just MODERATE your expectations, it's never good to be too optimistic or pessimistic towards these things but It generally works to have a bit of both making the proper assumptions for the variety of situations that you'll need to make expectations for throughout your day.

Family: A Skimmons Fanfiction
Family
Coulson, Ward, and Fitz, piled out of the S.H.I.E.L.D sanctioned vehicle and gathered on the right side, a few feet away from an average looking house. Fitz was bouncing up and down, making the little gift box that he was holding make a rattling noise, with a huge smile on his face. Ward and Coulson both stood properly but Coulson’s foot and Ward’s thumb tapped as they tried to maintain their composure as they waited for May, who had been driving, to join them outside. She walked around with a black bag on her shoulder and looked confusingly at the men.
“What are you waiting for, let’s go”
Leo jumped a little and led the group to the front door, he stopped himself from banging on the door and instead moved obediently next to May. Coulson took a deep breath, the smile that he tried so hard to keep hidden was becoming more and more apparent, he pushed the doorbell and stepped back putting is hands in front of him.
The door flew open to reveal Skye standing with her arms wide open, she jumped up and down much like Fitz and let out a hushed scream. She grabbed Coulson and hugged him laughing, May and Fitz followed and then Ward who she hugged and then held him arms length bouncing.
“We. Have. A. Baby!”
Ward smiled and nodded.
“I know you do.”
“There’s a baby in there, Ward”
“I know.”
Skye let out another hushed scream and then bounded away, grabbing Fitz by the front of his shirt and pulling him into the house with the rest of the team following neatly with infectious smiles on their faces.
Skye led them through a very nice house to a little living room where Jemma was sitting on a couch holding a little pink bundle proudly and smiling. Skye sat down next to her, putting her arm around her and laying her head on the scientist’s shoulder looking at the little face in the blanket. The team sat around quietly with Coulson on the table in front of them and Fitz and May on the couch next to the new parents. Coulson leaned over to get a better look.
“We came as soon as we got the news but they wouldn’t tell us anything else.”
The baby garbled a little bit and stretched out her tiny hands and Skye awed and let the tiny hand hold her finger. Jemma sat the child up slightly on her lap.
“Well she’s up so I guess we don’t have to be so quiet”
The entire team leaned forward in a heightened suspense looking at the couple and their new baby. Jemma took a deep breath and looked around.
“Everyone, I would like you to meet Melinda Phillipa Simmons”
The team stopped and looked around and Ward chuckled and gestured to Coulson and May.
“Huh! You named her after these two! That’s amazing.”
Leo looked over Skye at Jemma.
“Why didn’t you name her after me?”
“I’m sorry, Fitz, we just didn’t think ‘Leopold’ was a good girls name. Maybe next time if we have a boy.”
Fitz put his head down a little disappointed but immediately redirected his attention to May sitting next to him.
“Is that a tear I see, agent May”
May looked at the younger man intensely and then said in a deep voice.
“No”
Skye stifled a laugh at Leo’s terrified expression. He swallowed and looked back at the women a little red.
“So, who gets to hold the little one first.”
“I do!”
Coulson said a little to quickly, he immediately composed himself and sat back on the table and cleared his throat.
“I mean, technically I’m the leader, so I should get to hold her first.”
The couple smiled at each other for a second before Jemma leaned over and gingerly handed the tiny baby over to Coulson who laid Melinda on his arms and smiled sweetly as the baby looked at him with wide blue eyes. Jemma hesitated before leaning back on the couch and wrapping her arms around Skye’s waist, she kissed her wife and then looked back at the agent holding their daughter. May spoke up for the first time.
“Are you guys ready to see the presents?”
Skye clapped lightly and Jemma nodded excitedly. May pulled out the black bag that she had brought in and placed it on her lap. Meanwhile Ward leaned in next to Coulson and tried to touch the baby’s hand but stopped when Coulson slapped his hand lightly and then went back to rocking the baby, Ward turned away disbelievingly and jumped into the conversation.
“I think Fitz should go first since he hasn’t shut up about it the entire trip.”
Leo handed Skye the wrapped box and held his hands up excitedly.
“I hope she likes it!”
They pulled the paper off together and lifted the lid off the box, Jemma laughed and picked it up off of Skye’s lap, pulling out a little book and holding it up. “Introduction to Calculus: For infants”
“This is amazing, Fitz! So adorable!”
She started flipping through the thick pages and Skye looked at Ward.
“The science. It’s starting already.”
Ward nodded understandingly and Skye looked down on the complicated math problems posed in baby friendly ways with wide terrified eyes. Jemma leaned over and hugged Fitz tightly.
“She’s going to be on our side in no time!”
Jemma giggled and Skye shook her head.
“Who’s next? May?”
May pulled a simple but rather large, elongated box and handed it to the couple proudly, it covered both their laps. The opened it and smiled as the looked at the contents. The box was split into three sections; in the first section was about five baby blankets of various colors, they were extremely soft and of some kind of expensive fabric. In the second section was a neatly folded pile of onesies, like the blankets, they were of various colors and patterns and finally, in the third section was a box, they opened it revealing a pair of tiny padded nun chucks. Skye pulled them out curiously and then shook them, sure enough they were rattles.
“This is absolutely incredible, May, thank you!”
May sat up proudly.
“I’m the only one who got her practical gifts.”
Skye looked at her and shook the little nun chucks with one eyebrow raised.
“It’s never to early to start them with self defense.”
Jemma nodded in agreement.
“My turn”
May pulled another gift out of her bag, this time from Ward and handed the wrapped bulbous gift to Skye and Jemma. They pulled the wrapping off and then Skye started laughing hysterically while Jemma pulled the soft object out of the paper.
“It’s a pillow. A laptop pillow.”
Skye took it and looked at it closer. It was soft and relatively large, right now, Melinda could probably sleep on top of it with room to spare but it held a very detailed resemblance to an opened laptop with keys and a screen and a Window’s meadow screen savor but scrolled on the screen part of the pillow was a little message in DOS style.
“So you can start becoming your mom’s little hacker early.
Love, Your Uncle Grant”
Skye put her hand over mouth and smiled.
“That is the sweetest thing ever! Thank you, Ward you big ol‘ teddy bear!”
Skye reached over and squeezed his hand, smiling, May interrupted their moment.
“Coulson, do you want to give them yours?”
He nodded and then reluctantly handed the little baby to Ward. He gently took her and cradled her, she look especially tiny in the big man’s arms. He made a goofy face as he looked down and little Melinda giggled, he smiled and played with her reaching hand.
“Yeah, your momma thought my face was funny when she first met me too.”
Jemma, who was the only on who heard this little exchange, laughed and covered her face and shook her head at Ward who just shrugged his shoulders, still smiling.
May handed a box to Coulson who took a breath and then handed it to Skye.
“I hope she likes it. I’ve never shopped for a baby before.”
The women opened the deep box excitedly and then pulled out the first item, Skye shook her head.
“I should’ve known.”
She held up a little Captain America T-Shirt, then pulled out the next layer, which was a soft Captain America pillow that was perfect sized for a baby and lastly she took out a Captain America story book and looked at it with wide eyes. Jemma laughed and then took the story book touching the cover which had a black signature on it.”
“Is this signed!?”
Coulson smiled proudly.
“Yeah, Cap felt really bad for not signing my cards before I died so now he signs everything on the spot”
“Oh my God, That’s incredible, Coulson! Thank you!”
Jemma placed Coulson’s presents on the table next to them with the rest.
“All of these are amazing. I’m so happy you guys are here.”
Melinda had been traded off to May who was standing up next to the couch holding her and smiling one of Melinda May’s rare smiles.
“Well, we’re very proud of you two.”
“If I may ask, though.”
Coulson reached over to see the baby in Melinda’s arms but moved back when he got slapped by May, Ward laughed lightly at the true chain of command in the team before Coulson continued.
“What are your guys’ plans with S.H.E.I.L.D?”
The women looked at each other before Jemma answered smiling.
“Well, I’ve got a job at a local S.H.E.I.L.D lab, it’s stable but it’s also going to be pretty interesting with the development and studies of new weaponry and even Asgardian weaponry. So at least while she’s little I’ll being staying in one place and right now Skye is still trying to find a suitable position within the Agency.”
“Yeah, I’m thinking about going into interrogation, maybe, at least until Mel gets a little older.”
The team collectively nodded and May handed the little baby who was now beginning to fuss to Skye who took her and then left to change her in the other room. Jemma looked worriedly at Leo.
“You haven’t got to hold her yet, have you?”
He paused, holding back a smile.
“Well, I’ll have plenty of time to hold her and get to know her later, seeing as I’ll be working in the same lab as you.”
Jemma stopped for a moment to let this information sink in and then screamed, practically launching herself into Fitz and hugging him whilst bouncing up and down.
“I applied for the lab and S.H.E.I.L.D’s letting me work there.”
“Oh, I’m so happy! We’ll still be working together! That was the only thing that I hated about this whole transfer. But it’s all okay now, we’ll still be partners!”
Skye, who had been listening to the whole thing from the other room, walked back in holding a much fresher smelling Melinda.
“And, you’ll be able to baby-sit. Yay!”
Jemma still had not let go of Fitz when her eyes went wide.
“Wait, you guys are staying here for the night, right?”
Ward laughed, he had been messing with something in May’s bag this whole time.
“Of course we’re staying here. We’re family, and as family, it’s our obligation to come into your house, eat your food, take up your sleeping space and spend time with your child. Now everyone get on the couch, baby’s first family picture.”
They all piled on the couch, with Skye and Jemma with Little Melinda in their laps looking up, completely confused by the commotion going on around her. Ward set the timer on the camera and then took his place on the couch, they all smiled as the little device clicked and took the first family photo of many to come.

Promises: a Skimmons Fanfiction
You know the drill, I have an addiction and these two have basically taken over my life. However, on the bright side, this fanfiction turned out more followers and more notes in one night than the rest of my fanfictions so yay!
“Jemma… We los- I lost her, I can’t find her. The building was rigged, Jem-Jemma, I’m so sorry.”
Ward’s voice was cracking as he stood in front of the scientist, the rest of the team already knew and were standing around. May had been there and she stood in the corner, her clothes ripped and her skin burned from trying to find their fallen teammate. Coulson was sitting near the wall looking away, not looking at the rest of his heart broken team and Fitz stood next to Jemma as she got the news with tears in his eyes. He reached over to hold the scientist but she pushed him away harshly in a manner not at all like the sweet Jemma Simmons.
“What do you mean?”
“She’s gone. I’m sorry”
“No”
Jemma began to look around as if this was just some sort of cruel practical joke, she threw her glasses on the floor and they shattered.
“No, I don’t believe you.”
She continued to look at ward with a soul penetrating stare, her face started to flash red.
“I tried. I tried to save her, Jemma”
Before she even knew what was happening she slapped Ward harshly, he didn’t even try to protect himself from the strike.
“YOU TRIED?”
A violent sob escaped her throat as the reality of what was happening hit her like a wall.
“YOU TRIED, WARD? MY WIFE IS SOMEWHERE DEAD UNDER RUBBLE LIKE A PIECE OF TRASH BUT YOU TRIED?”
Jemma began hitting her fist on Ward’s chest, sobbing harshly and screaming at the now crying agent.
“I told you not to take her! I told you! You took her anyway!
Fitz tried to grab Jemma but she struggled and screamed louder until the air was filled with a mixture of desperate sobs and the curses that she flung at Ward, S.H.I.E.L.D, and everything else. Ward had left the room by this point, followed by Coulson who gestured to May in a grim expression. May walked up behind the struggling woman and stuck a needle effortlessly into her arm, Fitz stared at her in shock but she just patted his arm and reassured him. In a few moments Jemma went limp in May’s arms, she ducked under her arm and carried the scientist to the beds, lightly laying her still fidgeting body in a bunk and wiping the hair out of the younger woman’s face before retreating back to her own bed.
I few restless hours later Jemma woke up and looked around in a panic, she wiped the sweat from her forehead and tried to figure what happened and then like a train, it hit her all over again. She curled over into a fetal position and let the sobs come back again as she tried to comprehend the depth of her own grief. She lay there like that, crying lightly at times and at others sobbing desperately for a while but as the guilt of her own words sunk she pulled herself heavily to the edge of the bed and sat up weakly.
It took all of her strength but she stood up and made her way to the bar where she found Ward sitting limply on a stool with a drink in his hand. He was in as terrible a shape as May was but he had neglected to dress any of his wounds leaving the severe burns open to the air. Jemma walked up with her head down, she was still crying but she managed to speak in a cracked and pathetic voice with tears breaking the rhythm of her words.
“Ward, I’m so sorry.”
He didn’t say anything but he stood up, setting the drink down and hugged the scientist who started crying even harder as she hugged back trying to avoid his burns.
“I didn’t mean any of that. I’m so, so sorry, it’s not your fault, ward I just-”
“I know, It’s okay, Simmons”
Ward nodded and let her go, however, she continued to apologize as she walked back over to his seat and took another drink.
Jemma walked away still feeling the shame of her actions even though no one blamed her. She ducked back into her room, the tears were finally drying up and she felt like she would never be able to cry again. She shook her head and opened a drawer, she pulled out a thick album and she dropped it on the bed before lightly sitting next to it and pulling it open. It was their wedding album and she smiled sadly as she flipped through the pages, looking at the best day of her life with the person whom she loved most in the world.
Both her and Skye wore beautiful white dresses as they stood at the simple alter with the bus in the background. Coulson and May stood between them as they read their vows together, Jemma laughed a little as she remembered how hard it was for them to convince May to marry them along with Coulson who not only jumped on the opportunity, he offered to walk the both of them to the alter. Fitz stood next to Jemma with a dorky smile as he stared at his partner saying her vows and Ward stood proudly next to Skye.
Jemma lightly flipped through the rest of the album and the team celebrating their wedding on the bus. It had been the greatest time of her life as they danced and goofed off with the people who loved them most but even then it had gotten better when Coulson dropped them off at Hotel in Spain, reminding them that they would be back on the bus the next morning and back to work. The rest of the pictures were just of Jemma and Skye in the hotel room rolling around between the sheets (Jemma hadn’t wanted Skye to take any of those pictures but now she was thankful for them).
She closed the book and pulled it close to her chest, laying back down and thinking about the future without Skye that she was facing.
Somewhere, far behind the already airborne bus Skye pulled herself out from underneath rubble a long way away from the initial explosion. She had no idea how she ended up so far away and she looked around in a panic.
“May! Ward!”
There wasn’t anybody else in sight but it was dark outside now and she was starting to feel rain hit her exposed and burned skin. She drug the rest of her body out and cried out a little as a searing pain shot up from her leg, she stretched it out and examined it cautiously. The knee was bent in an unnatural direction and she winced as she pushed lightly on the swelling limb. She laid back and took a deep breath putting the pain from all over her body to the back of her mind as she realized that her team probably thought that she was dead. She stopped for a second as she thought about Jemma, all alone and overwhelmed with grief. It was enough to make Skye cry but she instead pushed herself up trying to ignore the throbbing pain that moved from her completely immobile leg through to the rest of her body.
She was in the middle of nowhere and she was still having to climb around the rubble. But despite her torn and almost mangled appearance she kept her eyes looking straight ahead at whatever she couldn’t really see. She had no way of telling how long she had been out, it could have been a couple of hours, it could have been a couple of days but the thought of Jemma back on the bus thinking that she was dead kept Skye moving forward despite the pain.
Right then, her goal was to find a hospital or at least someplace with a phone or a computer but from the looks of things, it was going to a long while before she found anybody but that didn’t even slow the woman down as she pushed on through the now downpour of a thunder storm.
It went on like this for hours and Skye began to feel completely hopeless, the rain apparently wasn’t going to stop and her leg had gone from throbbing to just a constant agony that she could feel in her chest. She tripped over a group of rocks and fell to the ground hard, she tried to stand back up but her body was just giving out after all of the trauma it had just endured. She fell back and then resigned just to take a little break as it was apparent that getting up was going to be absolutely terrible. She flipped off the sky and tried to wipe some of the mud from her face.
Then she saw something that made her sit up, completely at attention now, it was a couple of tiny lights just in the distance. They looked like they were coming toward her but she couldn’t tell what they were exactly. She covered her eyes with her hand and squinted trying to make out whether it was a vehicle or something like a little plane. As it came closer, she ruled out a vehicle of some sort since it did seem to be flying but it was awful tiny for a plane. She didn’t have to wait long for her answer as the humanoid shape of the Iron man suit became clearer to the injured woman. She laughed and waved her arms in the air but then she stopped as he didn’t seem to be slowing down. She wasn’t going to let him pass her by so without thinking and relying solely on the instincts that she had gained from training, she grabbed a good sized rock and hurled it as hard as she could in her condition. It hit with a satisfying “CLUNK!” and the suit halted in mid air, turning around and flying towards her. She let herself fall back as the relief of being rescued washed over her aching body.
The suit landed and ran over to her side, the helmet slid up revealing the recognizable face of James Rhodes in the Iron Patriot suit he kneeled down next to Skye and assessed her injuries.
“We need to get you to a hospital, miss”
He leaned over to pick her up but she waved him away still leaning on the palms of her hands.
“It’s Mrs. And I don’t need a hospital, I need you to contact my team.”
“You’re really hurt I think that a hospita-”
“My team. It’s Phil Coulson’s team. They’ll come get me.”
He gave in and shut the helmet. Skye could hear him talking but she couldn’t hear the voice on the other end. The helmet flipped back up.
“They’re on their way. Apparently you were pronounced dead over a day ago.”
Skye winced at those words as she thought about Jemma and the rest of the team, no doubt Ward was going to blame himself and Coulson would have been crushed by a loss in his precious team but mostly Jemma. She had promised her wife that she was coming back and Jemma had to deal with the broken promise. It wasn’t broken, Skye thought, she was just going to be a little late.
“Thank you, Sir.”
He sat down heavily in the suit, trying to cover the injured woman from the intense downpour.
“No problem. Mrs.?
Skye smiled despite the pain and held her hand out to shake his.
“Simmons. Skye Simmons”
Rhodes nodded and then listened as Skye retold much of her life to him in an attempt to distract herself from the pain. It really didn’t take that long for the Bus to get there especially since, Skye knew that they weren’t anywhere near the area. May must have broken most of the air laws in order to get there that fast. The Bus landed and the door open quickly, Skye could see through the rain that the whole team was standing at the ready and once it hit the ground, they all rushed forward but none of them were faster than Jemma. She sprinted to Skye’s side and threw her arms around the woman in a mixture of laughter and tears then pulled her at arms length to examine her properly. Skye now let herself cry, not that it mattered in the pouring rain.
“I’m so sorry Jem”
Jemma kissed Skye passionately through the rain and wiped the water from her face. Fitz was tending to Skye’s leg while Ward knelt next to his teammate, a look of eternal relief on his tense face and Coulson was just a little ways away shaking Rhodes’ hand and thanking him, May stood next to the bus with the faintest hint of a smile on her face.
“Promise to never do that again and we’ll call it even, okay?”
“I promise”

"Can't Sleep" Skimmons Fanfictions
Here's another Skimmons fanfiction. It's called "Can't Sleep"
“Hey Jem?”
Jemma looked up from the experiment that she was currently working on when she heard the tentative and shy voice that was so unlike Skye’s normal tone. Skye was standing halfway in the doorway looking down, her hair was messy and her eyes were droopy and tired. It was pretty late and although Simmons had to stay in the lab late Skye should have been asleep after the intense day of field work that she had just been through.
“Sweetie, what’s wrong? What are you doing up?”
“Can’t sleep.”
She replied in an exhausted and utterly broken voice that broke the scientist’s heart into a million pieces.
“I-I’m just tired… And I can’t sleep.”
Skye slunk forward and practically fell into Jemma’s arms, burying her face into the woman’s neck and putting her hands around her waist. Skye closed her eyes and clung onto the Jemma, shaking slightly with her hands opening and closing behind the scientist.
Jemma had a feeling that this was probably because of a dream, perhaps some PTSD from the recent ordeal but Skye obviously didn’t want to talk about it. Jemma just wanted to end her pain and fix everything, But she knew that all she could do was just be there for Skye.
“Oh, Sweetheart”
Jemma took off her glasses and wrapped her arms tightly around Skye, lightly stroking her messy hair and rocking back and forth. She was trying her best to be strong, to be Skye’s rock but she couldn’t stop the tears that rolled down her cheeks as she held on desperately.
“Now, that just won’t do, will it?”
Jemma said with a gentle smile through the tears that she was trying to ignore. She grasped on to Skye and began to lower the two of them to the floor. Skye, afraid that Jemma was letting go tensed up and locked her arms around the scientist and shutting her eyes tighter.
“I’m not going anywhere, baby. I’m not going to let you go, okay?”
Skye nodded into Jemma’s neck and let her guide her down to the floor next to the lab table, never taking her arms from around Skye’s body. She sat against the corner and moved her legs underneath Skye until she was practically laying on top of the scientist with her head, that was previously buried in Jemma’s neck, now on her chest. Jemma moved the hand from behind her back and kissed Skye’s fingers gingerly before holding it tightly within her own.
“I love you, Jemma Simmons.”
Skye’s voice cracked as she said it and she squeezed the scientist’s hand before her worn out emotions overtook her but she kept her eyes open, looking forward at nothing in particular.
“I love you, Skye. Oh, you have no idea how much I love you, baby”
Skye smiled lightly for the first time and closed her eyes. After that, it wasn’t long before both the women fell asleep, never moving or letting throughout the night on the lab floor.

It's another Skimmons Fanfiction
Yes, it's another Skimmons fanfiction, anyway you know the drill, enjoy :)
I have no idea what to call this one...
Jemma was in the middle of a particularly enjoyable dream when one of the characters stared at her and started buzzing obnoxiously. She jumped awake and turned over to grab her vibrating phone on her little bed shelf.
“H-hello?”
She didn’t even have her eyes open as she leaned drunkenly on the side of her bunk waiting for the other person to answer. She woke up a little, however, whenever she heard the voice on the other end respond with a cheerfully guilty voice.
“Heyy! Jemma, it’s me Skye.”
Jemma sat up and rubbed her eyes.
“Skye? Wha’”
“Look I know this is kind of weird but I got myself in a little bit of trouble and I was-”
“Skye, where are you? What’s wrong? Why aren’t you on the bus?”
Jemma was now awake and alert, Skye was quick to answer and reassure her, she could hear that Skye was guilty for waking her up in the middle of the night.
“I’m fine, I’m just a little stuck. I couldn’t sleep so I went for a little walk in that patch of woods next to us and now… I’m stuck. I’m so sorry for waking you up but could you give me a hand?”
She added with a slightly lower tone of voice
“I promise I’ll make it up to you”
Jemma rubbed her forehead and scooted to the edge of her bunk, grabbing a pair of socks from a drawer. She held the phone between her ear and her shoulder as she proceeded to get dressed.
“Of course I’ll come help you but what are you doing there? We don’t know what’s out there, that’s why we’re here! Skye, you could have been killed!”
Jemma continued to get dressed as she scolded Skye on how dangerous going out there by herself was dangerous and how worried she was about Skye doing something like this and then never coming back. Skye felt bad so she stayed silent as the scientist lectured her, she knew that Jemma worried and with the situation that she was in now, Jemma had every right to be furious but luckily for Skye, she never lashed out and instead just worried and nagged at her reckless girlfriend.
“Okay, I’m on my way, give me a second to get off the bus and then I’ll need you to tell me where to go.”
Jemma wasn’t used to sneaking around and she jumped at every little noise, just waiting for someone to wake up and ask what in the world she was doing but she got out without waking anybody up. She took a deep breathe of air as she stepped outside in the dark equipped with a flashlight and a duffle bag filled with things she might need, Jemma Simmons was anything if not prepared. She nervously took the first few steps away from the safety of the Bus and into the terrifying line of forest in front of her, even with the flashlight, she couldn’t see anything very well.
“Okay, Skye, tell me how to get to you.”
Skye described the path that she took and everything that she passed, lucky for her, she wasn’t very far into the forest when she found something that got her into this mess.
“I really hope whatever you found, even if it’s what we’ve been looking for, isn’t toxic or volatile,”
“Well, it looks like something that we might be looking for… and it hasn’t done anything so far.. So..”
Jemma tripped slightly on a branch under her feet and she grumbled under her breathe, Skye winced as she heard the commotion, she was going to be paying for this for a while and she knew it.
“You alright?”
“Yes, I’m fine. Well, did you at least bring something to test it’s origins?”
Skye paused on the other end.
“No.. Not really.”
Jemma didn’t answer and instead just ventured forward faster.
“I can see the big fallen tree you were telling me about, how much father are you from that?”
“Not very far, just walk past it, turn left and walk straight.”
Jemma followed her instructions and then after battling with a few thorny bushes stopped, looking around.
“Where are you? I can’t see you.”
“Look directly up”
Jemma slowly turned her head up only to see Skye waving apologetically down at her on a branch of a huge tree, very high up in the air. She groaned and let her arms fall to her sides.
“I was afraid that’s where you were.’
Jemma put the flashlight in her mouth and started rummaging through her duffle bag. Still holding her phone with her shoulder.
“Rurhh cky ah ut pah”
“What?”
Jemma grabbed the flashlight with her other hand and started pulling something out of the bad.
“I said, You’re lucky I brought a rope.”
“Oh”
The scientist attached a thick rope to a little climbing propeller and then organized the length of rope around her before pointing it up at the branch that Skye was sitting precariously on.
“Okay, watch out, I don’t want to accidentally hit you.”
She pulled the trigger and the line shot with surprising accuracy right to next Skye.
“Now tie it very tightly to the branch your on, I’m going to send up some climbing gloves so you can hold onto the rope.”
“I think I’ll be fine with just-”
“No. Just wait a second”
Skye crossed her arms and pouted on her branch as Jemma fumbled with something else down on the ground. She got the gloves and attached them to another piece of slightly thinner rope, she then started to mount it onto the propeller until a loud roar behind her, stopped her in her tracks. She turned around slowly only to hear another roar, this time angrier and closer than the last one. Jemma gasped and dropped everything, including the phone on her shoulder, looking around in terror, a big mass ran across her line of sight and she screamed as it came towards her. Skye was up in the tree screaming as well, shouting at her to get away. At a loss for options Jemma grabbed the rope and started climbing wildly up the tree, her legs kicking and jolting trying to find anything and everything to give her some sort of traction up the tree. Skye soon realized that she hadn’t tied the rope well enough for this kind of roughage and she grabbed it as it unraveled from the branch, she braced herself with her legs and held the rope under the limb until Jemma had made it to the top. Skye let go of the rope and grasped Jem’s hand, pulling her up onto her lap.
“THE ROPE!”
Jemma tried to reach for it before it fell hopelessly to the ground but was pulled back by Skye. They looked down at commotion below them and a fuzzy little ball that was rolling around at the trunk of the tree, it was eventually joined by another ball of fuzz.
“Looks like a couple of baby bears”
Skye said laughing.
“What I saw was much bigger than a baby bear.”
Almost as if on cue, a massive animal bumbled into their line of sight, the huge Momma bear growled and groaned as she moved around the tree sniffing at the rope and duffle bag before completely dismantling everything including the bag, the cubs helped to pull the stuff out and within no time it was strewn about chaotically at the bottom of the tree. Skye still had her arms around her girlfriend as they stared disbelievingly at what was happening below them.
“That flashing thing down there is your phone isn’t it?”
Skye nodded, biting her upper lip.
“Yup.”
“I thought so. Basically we‘re stuck in huge tree without any communication device and no way of getting down?”
“Yup”
“Do you still have that tracking device that Coulson gave you?”
“Just turned it on.”
They elected not to say much for a while and they just watched the little family of bears demolish every piece of equipment. Morning was only a couple of hours away so all they could do was wait for the team to realize that they were gone and try to find them. Skye showed Jemma the medallion looking thing that had caught her eye and she had climbed the tree to get, only to get stuck.
Jemma sighed and leaned back closer to Skye who snuggled her face into her fuming girlfriend’s neck.
“I can’t believe the trouble you get me into, Skye”
The clouds had dispersed and the sun was beginning to lighten up the sky, however the moon still shone brightly, casting a beautiful light onto the damp forest.
“You know, you look absolutely gorgeous in the moonlight?”
Jemma smiled and rolled her eyes
“You know, I can’t believe how fast you made it up that rope, it was stunning, honestly.”
Jemma chuckled lightly and shook her head
“ You are so incredible, I mean just awesome, and beautiful, very, very beautiful. I’m so lucky to have you-”
Jemma put her hand up and patted Skye’s cheek, shushing her slightly with a big sleepy smile, then she explained very logically.
“You know, I love you a lot and I can’t believe what just happened but I’m just very happy that you’re safe and we’re together.”
Skye nodded
“Thank you”
“Plus, you promised to make it up to me, right?”
“A thousand times yes.”
“Well then, we’ll be even soon enough.”
Eventually the tracking device did it’s job and they saw Ward walking towards them, following a little screen in his hands, they yelled to get his attention. He looked up at the pair in the tree and just burst out laughing which was completely out of character for him. They waited for him to finish his fit of laughter and tell the rest of the team that he had found them and they were fine before he looked back up at them, grinning.
“Jesus, guys, if you wanted some privacy you could’ve just gone to a motel”
Adventure!
"It's a dangerous business going out your door
You step onto the road and if you don't keep your feet,

---- Bilbo Baggins (I think) (I'm pretty sure though)
Whoo-hoo! I went on an adventure today, A real one and not a metaphorical one! Which is quite a feet since I usually do the other type but No I went on a mini, domestic riveting adventure with John and I had a wonderful time. You see, when I'm on my own I don't usually explore much, I mean, it took me almost a half a year before I even ventured out of our new house. With other people I'm generally very adventurous and by other people, I mean John because there is no one I love risking it a little more than her. But it's always been like that, together we explored every inch of the last property and now we are pushing the limits in this park.
Those days when we get out of the house and look around, measure and hop over fences are certainly my favorite days since i don't usually explore with the proper attitude with anybody else but John. Simon is usually with me when it comes to chickening out just when things get interesting but we tend to experience the same sensations at the same time. When I'm exploring with John not only can I take the role of leader but I also don't mind going much further (Distance speaking) than I usually would. Life is always a hundred times better when you can do some old fashioned adventuring with your best friend ans speaking of "Old fashioned adventuring" today has got me thinking about everyone's favorite adventurer (Or at least one of the top five adventurers), the amazing Bilbo Baggins (You thought I was going to say Steve Rogers because I said "Old Fashioned" Didn't you, well Ha!)
Granted the one thing that makes Bilbo so different from the general adventurer is the fact that he, of all people (or Hobbits) hated adventure, he wanted no part in the shenanigans that most people wait their entire lives for but never get. Luckily for him fate came and gave him a good kick in the arse, the rest of us have to work for that opportunity. He, like most Hobbits wanted nothing more than to enjoy his quaint little life in the Shire surrounded by busy neighbors and gossip. He liked the fact that nothing ever happened in his life and he planned to keep it that way until Gandalf showed up and turned his world upside down. However, that was the beginning, throughout the rest of his adventure with Gandalf and the many creatures he met along the way, he grew as a person and during the most intense moments in their quest he showed the many qualities that made him so unique and lovable. he became somebody that everybody wants to emulate in their lives, he was brave, resourceful, and just all around useful to the team.
But the thing is, he would have never been given the opportunity to express those sought after traits had he not gone on the fantastic and daring adventure that he did. he shined most in situations of dire need and I think that's exactly what draws other people to the thrill of adventure, we could do with out the discomfort and the risk, what we really want to find out is what quality of ours shines when we are put in to a desperate situation. You can guess and most people spend their entire lives guessing how they might react in a dire situation, but in all reality, it's impossible to tell since even Bilbo was completely wrong and totally underestimated his own talents for adventure and heroism . We all want to be Bilbo in those extraordinary situations and hopefully most of us are but honestly some will probably be cowards or even Villains, it's impossible to tell. But I hope that I would shine like Bilbo in an adventure, like everyone but i won't keep myself up worrying about it because no one can ever tell until it happens.
So here's a post at the end of an adventurous day, more importantly though, it's not a Skimmons fanfiction (Hopefully that will come a little later) I hope that every time you have a new opportunity that you think about Bilbo Baggins and then take it because it's worth the risk to see what you have hidden under your mundane lives.
"You didn't see anything" Skimmons Fanfiction
Okay, I know that I need to post something other than Skimmons fanfictions so I'll work on that today, maybe even this morning. Anyway, here's my latest Skimmons fanfiction. At the bottom is a lyric video of the song that I was listening to while I wrote it and the song that is actually in the story. Enjoy. Note: This has been edited slightly for Blogger, this isn't exactly the same story I posted on Tumblr.
Skye took her headphones off and looked over her laptop, from her spot on the table she had a perfect view of the lab and more importantly, what was going on inside. Skye smiled dumbly as she saw Jemma dancing in her lab coat and glasses completely unaware that someone was watching her and totally letting loose. She probably should have left but this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Jemma in a private environment (Plus she was painfully adorable). So Skye, carefully and trying to alert Jemma that someone was watching her, shut her laptop and stood up to get a closer look.
Skye wasn’t planning on spying or anything when she went into the bus while the rest of the team was in the boring looking office building, she just wanted to have some space to do some more personal projects on her laptop. And at first, she didn’t even notice anything with her headphones in and blaring her music loudly, so she just got a seat and plopped her stuff down on the table and started goofing around. She felt a bit stupid because if Jemma had been a bad guy or something, Skye would probably have been dead and would have never suspected anything as she zoned out looking at her laptop. She was so enveloped in what she was doing that she didn’t even realize what was happening just ahead of her and when her music stopped to change songs she jumped at the sound of more music.

Jemma looked happier and more relaxed than Skye had ever seen her as she spun around the lab table. She jumped and swung her arms, eyes closed with an empty test tube serving as her microphone as she lip synced an upbeat song;
Lights are off and the sun is finally setting.
The night sky is changing over head
It’s not just all physical
I’m the type who won’t get oh so critical
So let’s make things physical
I won’t treat you like you’re oh so typical
I want you close
I want you
I won’t treat you like you’re typical
I want you close
I want you
I won’t treat you like you’re typical
Her head banged back and forth to the rock tune as she moved back and forth, biting her lip with a huge smile on her face. It was a lot like the goofy smile that Skye had on her face as she slightly bobbed with the music and getting increasingly more excited as she watched the scientist in a light that she had never even imagined before as she appreciated how Jemma’s hair was completely covering her face in a messy pile as she rocked so unlike Simmons’ usual clean cut look.
Skye took a risk and moved even closer to the lab doors until she was basically leaning on the edges. So far, she didn’t need to be worried about Jemma seeing her since her eyes had been shut tight as she danced wildly, staring in her own little rock show. Skye decided that this was the way she would always want to remember Jemma Simmons, as a geeky rock star who danced as if no one was watching (Technically she did think that no one was watching). Skye was getting so hypnotized by this little show that she didn’t even realize that she was getting dangerously close to the button that opened the doors. So when the doors rushed open she jumped and Jemma stopped harshly, grabbing the side of the lab table with one hand and the other flew to her mouth. Her cheeks flushed bright red and she looked as if she might start crying from the embarrassment and Skye was starting to feel like a Microbe.
However, the music was still blaring, now louder than ever so Skye did the only thing she could think of; She threw her arms up, laughing and ran up to the blushing scientist. She grabbed her hands and pulled them in the air with hers, swaying back and forth to the music. Jemma stood there stiffly at first but after a while of Skye moving her arms wildly and dancing in front of her, she finally gave in, dancing much like she was before, except now she held tightly onto Skye as they rocked out like a drunk pair of rock stars. Dancing precariously around the lab equipment and falling clumsily over each other. The lip syncing phase was over and now they were both singing loudly and uncontrollably to the words of the song.
Lost in the moment, Skye grabbed Jemma’s cheeks and kissed her mid verse. Jemma paused for a second, enjoying the warmth and taste of Skye’s mouth before she pulled her hands through Skye’s hair and kissed back. They continued to dance to the song as they made out with the grace of an intoxicated pair of rock stars which was exactly how they felt, lost in the adrenaline of the dance and the euphoria of the song playing on repeat.
Jemma tensed and her head shot up. Skye looked up only to see a confused and shocked looking Fitz standing in the lab door way with a pile of paperwork that he let fall chaotically onto the floor. His arms fell weakly to his side and he didn’t even try to keep his mouth open. Skye started laughing at the expression on Fitz’s face and she laid her head on Jemma’s chest, who had also started laughing making Skye’s head bounce lightly. They had been caught, normally this might have bothered the pair but given the circumstances Skye just stood up, continuing to laugh at the ridiculous situation. She grabbed Jemma’s hand and pulled her up onto her feet, giggling and the scientist put her arms around Skye’s waist as they made their way to a more private place, passing the stunned Fitz on their way out. Skye stopped in front of his and moved her hand slowly in a Jedi sort of way and kept her face straight just long enough to say.
