Skimmons Bar Fluff

“I’m so proud of you, Skye.”
Jemma Simmons smiled and lightly pushed away a lock of hair from the corner of the new agent’s eye. She blushed and looked down as the scientist kept her hand up, holding her face and looking at her sweetly. The team had gone to a relaxed bar in celebration of Skye receiving her badge but after a while of goofing off with the rest of the team, Skye and Jemma ended up in a corner booth as the atmosphere relaxed around them. No one would have been able to hear them however they ended up leaning very close to each other, practically whispering every word. They both had a small glass in front of them but since they had already had a little to drink, the cups weren’t picked up much and instead they focused their energy on the little intense moments that happened more and more as they whispered. This was the first time the actual cause of their being there was brought up and Jemma stared intently at Skye as if trying to convey just how proud of her she was.
“I’m serious, you don’t understand just how proud of you I am.”
Skye was finding out that when Jemma had alcohol in her system, (Aside from having the most adorable little British slur) she became rather emotional and Skye made a point not to mention sensitive topics such as the scientist’s parents, even in passing, again since Jem had nearly started crying the first time.
“Thanks Jem, that means a lot, it really does.”
Simmons leaned back and took a little sip of her drink, suddenly looking down and Skye realized how much she wanted the feel of the scientist’s fingertips on her cheeks again. So she leaned forward a little bit more.
“Jem?”
“Yes?”
“You alright?”
“I suppose… I just… Well, I’m very proud of you, it’s just..”
“Yeah?”
Jemma leaned forward again until their foreheads were nearly touching and she continued in in whisper that only Skye would have been able to hear.
“Well.. It’s just, you’ll be careful, won’t you?”
“Yeah. I’m always careful.”
“I know, but as a Shield agent, well, things might get even more dangerous and I just worry about your safety.”
Their heads were now lightly touching and they remained in a pose that would suggest that they were kissing, however, their eyes were wide open and intent on the conversation.
“I know it’s silly, I just..”
“It’s not, Jem.”
She paused for a few moments, thinking over her next word’s carefully.
“I never really had a family until now, now I have you and I have the rest of the team but when I was younger I really didn’t have anybody. Because of that, I never really cared about the consequences to my actions, I mean, it was always like ‘So what if I died’ right?”
She stopped as a tear rolled off her cheek, apparently she got a bit emotional with alcohol, as well.
“So, hearing you say that.. Means everything to me and I’ll try my hardest to always come back to you, Jem, you know I will because--”
Skye’s voice broke slightly and she closed her eyes for a moment before continuing.
“Because I know you’ll be waiting for me.”
“Jemma wiped away the tears from the agents face and smiled even though she couldn’t stop the tears either. Skye laughed a little ruefully.
“I’m sorry, I guess the alcohol--”
Jemma smiled and shook her head slowly causing the other woman’s to follow in the same pattern.
“Don’t apologize.”
Jemma lightly pressed her lips to the agents and Skye closed her eyes as the warmth of her girlfriend’s lips overtook the vulnerable emotions that were pouring through her as she emptied her heart out to the scientist. She opened her eyes again as Jemma pulled away just enough to talk.
“But I will hold you to that promise.”
“Do you promise to always be there when I come back?”
“I do.”
They mutually felt as if they had just made wedding vows and Skye smiled, their lips still nearly touching.
“You may kiss the bride”
Jemma complied and they both closed their eyes as they relished in each other’s taste, their hands slowly making their way to the other’s bodies.
“Yeeaaah! Lesbians!”
They both jumped and gasped as the drunk man practically collided with their table. He had a bottle of beer in one hand and a phone in the other, his breath reeked of constant alcohol and he had a horrible five o clock shadow. Skye got immediately angry and sat up.
“What the hell, man!?”
She made to push him away but he grabbed her wrist and held on, Jemma was about to get involved when a single pale hand tightened around the back of the drunken man’s neck. He looked around, still giggling cruelly, he still had a hold of Skye’s wrist and Jemma looked as if she were about to break his fingers off but they paused waiting to see the damage that May would do to his ass. They were disappointed when she didn’t break every bone in his body and instead leaned over behind him and said something extremely quietly in his ear with a stone face. The girls watched as his eye’s widened in fear and the blood drained from his face leaving him looking pale and gaunt. Skye could swear that he started shaking as he obediently let go of her hand and backed away, dropping his phone and stumbling backwards through the door with terror in his eyes.
The girls looked up at the older agent, a little scared themselves.
“What did you say to him?”
May gave them the faintest hint of a smile before she walked away.
“Something that will haunt him till the day he dies. Now enjoy the rest of the evening, I’m headed back. I don’t think anybody else will bother you”
That was an understatement, the entire bar looked like they had just witnessed witchcraft. The girls looked at each other with wide eyes before bursting out laughing.
“She’s going to have to teach me that.”
Skye shook her head and took another drink, Jemma giggled.
“That is way to much power for one person.”
“Now where were we?”
Skye leaned over and kissed Jemma first this time, the first of many more to come that night
