Ticklish Simmons Skimmons!

Skye sat perched on one of the back tables in the lab with her legs swinging back and forth as she watched the two scientists go about their jobs. This had become a habit for and it was amusing that she never got this amount of entertainment from her laptop. It was alright watching them do the science-y stuff but the reason she stayed was for the interactions between the two dorks. They had been working together so long that even their fights were placid bordering on plain humorous. Jemma was always professional when she was working while Fitz remained a total goofball even when working with dangerous elements and often Skye was thankful that he was genuinely a great scientist, otherwise they would have already blown up. However, even with that knowledge, Simmons often scolded him when he wasn’t taking their work seriously enough, it would roll right off him and he would continue with whatever he was doing. Jemma would scowl but then turn around to hide a little amused smile.
Skye had always done this but now that her and Jemma were dating it became not only an entertaining experience but also a great way for her to spend time with the scientist since she was often stuck working in the lab.
Today they were working with machinery instead of chemicals and they were tinkering next to each other, saying orders in monotone and focused voices. Skye had already left and come back a few times since there wasn’t much room for conversation, but finally they were wrapping everything up and Skye smiled from her perch, hoping that Jemma would be able to leave early. Fitz broke into a juggling routine as he was putting some of the little tools away and Jemma obviously rolled her eyes as she organized the counter. Skye couldn’t help but laugh and Fitz smiled, encouraged, and he walked over to Jemma and poked her side lightly with what looked to be a wrench. The scientist switched her body sideways and took the wrench from the engineer.
“Stop it!”
Fitz wasn’t phased and continued to poke her sides until they were practically running around the counters with Jemma shouting half giggled protests and eventually she stopped and put a finger up and stopped the engineer with a stern voice.
“Stop it, Fitz I will tase you, don‘t think I won‘t”
She pointed to the taser gun on the counter and Skye could see a slight smirk on the scientist’s face through her own laughter.
Fitz poked her a couple more times, looking like a hyped up five year old but retreated as she reached for the stunning device.
Skye laughed and waited patiently as Jemma finished her work and got her stuff. She walked over to the counter, The agent leaned down and the scientist stood up on the tips of her toes for a kiss before they left the lab. They left to get something to eat and then the women headed straight for the bedroom. Jemma put her bags on the floor and practically fell on the bed with her eyes closed. Skye smiled before crawling on the bed on top of the scientist and sitting up with her legs around Jemma’s hips. She put her hands up and the agent took them gently looking down on her girlfriend with a little tilted smile.
“You’ve been keeping something from me”
Simmons eyes opened and she looked up with a confused expression and tilted her head slightly on the bed.
“What?”
“Yeah, something very important and something that I could’ve known a long time ago.”
“What ever do you mean?”
They kept their fingers tangled as they talked, moving with each word.
“Well, today, as I was watching you and Fitz in the lab, I used my acute observational skills to deduce….”
Skye leaned down and kissed the scientist while Jemma’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. She let go of the other woman’s hands and placed them on Jemma’s waste before looking down with an evil grin. A look of terrified recognition came over the other woman’s face and her eyes widened.
“No”
“The great Jemma Simmons is..”
“No”
Skye leaned down and whispered playfully
“Ticklish!”
“No”
“Yes”
It was already to late, the agent had already begun to tease her fingers up and down the scientists side and the normally composed Jemma shrieked with laughter and attempted to writhe her way out from under Skye. She continued tickling the woman mercilessly and Jemma rocked from side to side, wiggling herself away as she laughed. Eventually she made her way out from under Skye’s teasing hands and off the edge of the bed. She immediately got up as Skye followed her off the bed, her face was red and her hair was messy as she ran around the room giggling with Skye right behind her. Every time she slowed down Skye would catch up to her and tickle her until she evaded and moved on giggling. This continued for a while with the two women running around the room laughing until finally, Jemma changed her tactics and turned around, breathlessly and ran into Skye who stopped as her pattern was disrupted. The scientist put her hands on the other woman’s face and kissed her, even through her fits of giggles, Skye still stopped with her tickling and kissed back, wrapping her arms around Jemma’s waste. They backed up until they fell on the bed with Simmons on top of Skye. She stopped for a moment and smiled, defeated.
“That’s not fair, you know”
The scientist grinned.
“I know. But worth it.”

Skimmons Hub fanfiction

Skye leaned over the little sink in the bus, staring intently at the mirror in front of her with unfocused and red eyes. All she could think about was Jemma, HER Jemma, trapped in The Hub while she was safe back on The Bus. She ran a hand through her messy hair and when her fingers got tangled she harshly ripped them out, barely noticing the pain now creeping through her scalp. She slammed her hand down on the edge adding another ignored element of pain to her aching head and scalp. Her mind was racing between panic and worry over Jemma’s safety and multiple plans of rescue that although were passionate and daring, were also ill-prepared and foolhardy. But whatever, she thought, anything that would land Jemma Simmons, the best thing that had ever happened to her, back in her arms was going to have to do, no matter the consequences.
With that thought, Skye pushed herself away and immediately went into the main computer room. Within a matter of fifteen minutes, she was standing in front of a huge collections of blueprints, personnel files, and security diagrams, in the corner of the wall, out of the way but still in sight was an I.D photo of Simmons. Her plans were detailed, at least she could say that, she efficiently cross-referenced all of the given elements and after a few roadblocks that left several items smashed on the floor she finally had a clear idea of what she was doing.  By the end of the hour she had drawn up a rather complicated but daring plan and she finally nodded to herself and convinced herself weakly that this was going to turn out okay.
The pressure, however, that she was going to have to do this alone since she hadn’t seen anyone in a while was beginning to leave doubts in her abilities. That wasn’t going to stop her from doing though, alone or not, so she headed for the utilities closet and suited up. She packed a variety of hidden little tools and weapons within her black S.H.I.E.L.D uniform and after placing her hair up so that it wouldn’t get in the way, she opened the door back to the computer room gun in hand completely prepared to kick some major ass (Even if she wasn’t feeling that confident). However, as the door opened, she was surprised to see May standing on the other side, like her, she was in full uniform and was arming her weapon. Skye blatantly tried to hide her gun from the older agent who didn’t even seem to acknowledge her presence. Skye took a deep breathe.
“I’m going after her, May.”
The agent never looked up and instead continued to check all of her personal equipment.
“I Know. We’re going with you.”
“But--”
“This your plan?”
Melinda walked over to the board and looked over the layers of documents with little lines running between them.
“Um.. Yeah?”
“Hmm. Educated. However, Impractical.”
Still not looking at Skye, May took the little remote and began to quickly move pages around. She would glance, move and then erase the many forms of information, her eyes moving too fast for Skye to keep up with what she was looking at. Eventually all that was left on the wall was a single blueprint and the I.D photo of Jemma in the corner. May took out a red laser pointer and used it to specify her words.
“We enter here. Extract here. And we exit here. Got it?”
Of course Skye ‘got it’ it was an extremely simple and straightforward layout however May’s timing was confusing her more than anything.
“What about the equipment we’ll need?”
“It’s ready to go out front.”
“ May, I’ve been in here for, like, and hour and a half. Why didn’t you tell me what we were doing?”
“Well, I had to let you do something to keep you busy.”
Skye looked at May with a raised eyebrow debating on whether she should be feeling angry and confused or just confused. May looked at her sideways and then turned to face her with her arms crossed and she got the strained expression that she always has whenever she is trying to be sentimental or soft.
“Look, I know what it’s like to have someone you love stuck in a dangerous situation. Sometimes fear can blind you and I let you stay here because it was better for both you and the rest of the team. It’s not that you would not have been helpful it’s just why put you through the added pressure when it wasn’t necessary.”
May’s face had softened and she looked more like a concerned mother than a cold, calculated agent. Skye nodded and quietly thanked the older agent, through all of the chaos that was raging through her mind at the moment she still took a moment to appreciate the fact that May had everything under control (Including her) from the very beginning.
“You ready to go.”
“Let’s do this.”

Meanwhile, back at The Hub….
Simmons stole herself away from everything happening for a moment, and in her situation that meant staring a wall for a little while. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath and let it out only after a few moments. Yes, everything was messed up and yes she was in a lot of trouble but despite the situation she couldn’t tell whether she was more worried about herself or Skye. She knew Skye could take care of herself but what she didn’t want was for her to rush in guns blazing and get herself hurt in an attempt to rescue her girlfriend. However, for just a second, the thought made the scientist smile halfway touched that she knew that Skye would run through Hell to keep her safe and halfway because of the image of Skye that popped in her head as the daring adventurer hero like you see on the cover of romance novels. Jemma reached up and held onto the simple little heart necklace that Skye had given her before all of this had started, she rubbed it between her thumb and forefinger silently hoping that Skye wasn’t going get herself hurt… or worse.. Killed.

Thankfully, May’s plan went off without a hitch and by nighttime Jemma and everyone was safely back on The Bus. Skye who was a little bit behind everyone finally showed up and stood at the door. Jemma turned around and went straight to her, wrapping her arms around the agent and gently kissing her on the lips.
“Awwww!”
Came the simultaneous and slightly mocking response from the rest of the team before they all wandered off to their own areas, leaving the women alone in the doorway. Jemma leaned back a little ways to look Skye in the eye.
“You’re my hero. You know that?”
“Weeell, I wouldn’t say ‘hero’ exactly.”
Skye chuckled
“It was actually May’s plan and expertise that got you out of there.”
“That’s not what I mean, Skye”
Jemma looked down, although still holding on to Skye with both arms, they had moved from the doorway and were now almost dancing in the middle of the floor. It took Simmons a few moments to continue, relationships weren't science not including the biological aspects and they were something that she still struggled to understand. She wanted to get her point across and she wanted it to come out correctly. Skye, knowing the person she was dating, patiently stayed silent as Jemma calculated.
“Wh-What I mean is that while I was at The Hub, I never had any doubt that you would come and save me. Even if the rest of the team hadn’t been there, you would have stormed it alone and I never doubted it for a second. So much so that, in all reality, I wasn’t really that afraid.”
The two were now swaying back and forth to non-existent music looking quite fondly at each other.
“Well, you would do the same for me.”
Jemma smiled and pulled out the tie in Skye’s hair.
“I would.”
Skye twirled Jemma around to flourish that wasn’t there and then kissed her again before Jemma smiled and broke it off. She grabbed Skye’s hand and pulled her through the door and into a nearby closet. Skye grinned and then pulled the door shut.

Mother's Day Post!!!!!!

It's a pretty well known fact that I am very close to my Mum, and when people ask me about that, when they wonder how I can be so close and love my Mum so much, I generally remind them that my Mum is actually just a great mother, an idea that many of people cant relate. It's pretty sad to think that not everyone's Mum is as good as a mother as my Mum, and I'm not talking "Love", most people can say that their Mom "loves" them, my Mum is actually a wonderful mother which believe it or not, is a very important aspect of our relationship. People brag all the time about how much their mother loves them but I am lucky enough to know that my mother also gives a crap about my life. Motherly love can be a shallow and empty thing but my Mum proves to me every day that she is genuinely a great mother who always puts me first.

It's always an entertaining story to talk about in my household for everyone to retell just how attached I was to my Mum when I was a baby. And it's funny because of how easily it can be compared to my relationship with her now. Maybe I don't stay with her all the time and cry when I have to leave but I certainly do put a lot of weight on always trying to remind my Mum that I love her. That's actually something that worries me a lot, I never like to drop off the map because even though I reminded my Mum that I loved her before I left, it's a priority of mine to keep reminding her until I get home safe. I worry a lot that my Mum doesn't understand how much I love her and how much I appreciate her, so, even though I fail a lot, I try to do as much as I can to remind her that she's always my favorite person and I wouldn't ever want a different mother.

I always like to compare my relationship with my Mum to Eve and Alex from The Mummy movies. That may seem a bit silly but It's actually quite accurate, I believe. First of all, Both my Mum and Eve seem to always be in control of the situation. There's been many times in my life when I thought that everything was horrible and out of control only to once again realize that my Mum had it handled the entire time and I was panicking over nothing. Secondly, Both of them are natural leaders who don't usually seem like they need any help getting what they need out of people. Also, of course, they're both incredible mothers and even though I've never been kidnapped by a crazed mummy version of Arnold Vosloo, I have no doubt my Mum would do the exact same thing to get me home safe. Lastly, based on the third movie, my relationship with my Mum is very similar to her's and Alex's relationship in "Tomb of the Dragon Emperor". I'm not always a lot like my Mum but I certainly crave her approval and am in a constant state of trying to make her proud. There is no one in this world whose opinion is more important to me than my Mum's.

I sincerely hope that my Mum liked what I could give her for Mother's day because I know that she deserves so much more and again, not because she loves me but because she just happens to be a wonderful mother. My Mum is the most important person in the world to me and I hope, as she's reading this, she understands that my opinion and love for her has not changed since I was a baby. I still need her and I still appreciate everything that she has done for me throughout my life. I still look up to my Mum and crave her attention the same way I did whenever I was a toddler most likely because I still see her as my hero, My Mama who always knows what to do.

I'm sorry if I made anyone jealous with this post, it's sad that not everyone can have a good a mother as I do but I suppose I must have just done something right in a past life to get mine. I don't encourage anyone to blindly love their mother since, from what I've seen, a lot of mothers suck So you can believe me when I say that nothing that I have posted here has been empty or exaggerated. I just have that  good of a Mum. I am a very lucky person to have a mother as caring and as hard working as mine and I hope that she always knows that because as hard as I try to remind her as much as possible, I still worry that she doesn't always know how much I love her and appreciate her.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MAMA!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

Skimmons Bar fanfictions

“I’m so proud of you, Skye.”
Jemma Simmons smiled and lightly pushed away a lock of hair from the corner of the new agent’s eye. She blushed and looked down as the scientist kept her hand up, holding her face and looking at her sweetly. The team had gone to a relaxed bar in celebration of Skye receiving her badge but after a while of goofing off with the rest of the team, Skye and Jemma ended up in a corner booth as the atmosphere relaxed around them. No one would have been able to hear them however they ended up leaning very close to each other, practically whispering every word. They both had a small glass in front of them but since they had already had a little to drink, the cups weren’t picked up much and instead they focused their energy on the little intense moments that happened more and more as they whispered. This was the first time the actual cause of their being there was brought up and Jemma stared intently at Skye as if trying to convey just how proud of her she was.
“I’m serious, you don’t understand just how proud of you I am.”
Skye was finding out that when Jemma had alcohol in her system, (Aside from having the most adorable little British slur) she became rather emotional and Skye made a point not to mention sensitive topics such as the scientist’s parents, even in passing, again since Jem had nearly started crying the first time.
“Thanks Jem, that means a lot, it really does.”
Simmons leaned back and took a little sip of her drink, suddenly looking down and Skye realized how much she wanted the feel of the scientist’s fingertips on her cheeks again. So she leaned forward a little bit more.
“Jem?”
“Yes?”
“You alright?”
“I suppose… I just… Well, I’m very proud of you, it’s just..”
“Yeah?”
Jemma leaned forward again until their foreheads were nearly touching and she continued in in whisper that only Skye would have been able to hear.
“Well.. It’s just, you’ll be careful, won’t you?”
“Yeah. I’m always careful.”
“I know, but as a Shield agent, well, things might get even more dangerous and I just worry about your safety.”
Their heads were now lightly touching and they remained in a pose that would suggest that they were kissing, however, their eyes were wide open and intent on the conversation.
“I know it’s silly, I just..”
“It’s not, Jem.”
She paused for a few moments, thinking over her next word’s carefully.
“I never really had a family until now, now I have you and I have the rest of the team but when I was younger I really didn’t have anybody. Because of that, I never really cared about the consequences to my actions, I mean, it was always like ‘So what if I died’ right?”
She stopped as a tear rolled off her cheek, apparently she got a bit emotional with alcohol, as well.
“So, hearing you say that.. Means everything to me and I’ll try my hardest to always come back to you, Jem, you know I will because--”
Skye’s voice broke slightly and she closed her eyes for a moment before continuing.
“Because I know you’ll be waiting for me.”
“Jemma wiped away the tears from the agents face and smiled even though she couldn’t stop the tears either. Skye laughed a little ruefully.
“I’m sorry, I guess the alcohol--”
Jemma smiled and shook her head slowly causing the other woman’s to follow in the same pattern.
“Don’t apologize.”
Jemma lightly pressed her lips to the agents and Skye closed her eyes as the warmth of her girlfriend’s lips overtook the vulnerable emotions that were pouring through her as she emptied her heart out to the scientist. She opened her eyes again as Jemma pulled away just enough to talk.
“But I will hold you to that promise.”
“Do you promise to always be there when I come back?”
“I do.”
They mutually felt as if they had just made wedding vows and Skye smiled, their lips still nearly touching.
“You may kiss the bride”
Jemma complied and they both closed their eyes as they relished in each other’s taste, their hands slowly making their way to the other’s bodies.
“Yeeaaah! Lesbians!”
They both jumped and gasped as the drunk man practically collided with their table. He had a bottle of beer in one hand and a phone in the other, his breath reeked of constant alcohol and he had a horrible five o clock shadow. Skye got immediately angry and sat up.
“What the hell, man!?”
She made to push him away but he grabbed her wrist and held on, Jemma was about to get involved when a single pale hand tightened around the back of the drunken man’s neck. He looked around, still giggling cruelly, he still had a hold of Skye’s wrist and Jemma looked as if she were about to break his fingers off but they paused waiting to see the damage that May would do to his ass. They were disappointed when she didn’t break every bone in his body and instead leaned over behind him and said something extremely quietly in his ear with a stone face. The girls watched as his eye’s widened in fear and the blood drained from his face leaving him looking pale and gaunt. Skye could swear that he started shaking as he obediently let go of her hand and backed away, dropping his phone and stumbling backwards through the door with terror in his eyes.
The girls looked up at the older agent, a little scared themselves.
“What did you say to him?”
May gave them the faintest hint of a smile before she walked away.
“Something that will haunt him till the day he dies. Now enjoy the rest of the evening, I’m headed back. I don’t think anybody else will bother you”
That was an understatement, the entire bar looked like they had just witnessed witchcraft. The girls looked at each other with wide eyes before bursting out laughing.
“She’s going to have to teach me that.”
Skye shook her head and took another drink, Jemma giggled.
“That is way to much power for one person.”
“Now where were we?”
as Skye leaned over and kissed Jemma first this time, the first of many more to come that night.

Skimmons prompt

Ugh, so I got this wonderful prompt from my favorite follower on Sunday. She usually gives me a prompt on Sunday night and then I post it on Tumblr for her Monday after school but yesterday, even though I had some ideas about how to go about, I was really tired so I took a nap and when I woke up at nine that night I started working on it. I didn't get it done till 12 but she seemed to like it. So here it is.

“Hey, Jemma!”
Skye ran through the corridor in an attempt to catch up with the scientist, she caught her just in time, just outside of the door. She quickly walked up to the fretting scientist and tapped her on the shoulder since apparently she hadn’t heard here teammate the moment before. Jemma turned around with a twinkle in her eye and smiled at the agent. Suddenly all of the confidence that Skye had mustered up previously was gone and she felt her face flash red.
“Yeah, Skye?”
She took a deep breathe and Jemma looked at her, confused.
“Um.. Yeah.. I just wanted to tell you before you left.. That.. Um..”
Simmons leaned in a little closer to hear her over the roar of the opening door.
“Yeah?”
“Well, I just wanted to say..”
Skye frowned and then continued lackluster
“I just wanted to say, be careful out there tonight.”
Jemma smiled and patted the agent’s arm
“I will, thanks.”
She paused.
“And I’ll see you tonight?”
“Of course! I’ll be here waiting for you.”
Skye’s face was transparent but she gave an excited thumbs up and the scientist fell for it before running off to catch up with Ward and Fitz. Once she was sure that Jemma wasn’t going to look back, Skye’s face fell and she limply shoved her way back to the main area of the bus. She made her way to the viewing room where Coulson and May were sitting quietly, messing with buttons. Skye practically sprawled onto the rolling chair and almost slammed into the opposite wall with a big disappointed sigh. Coulson looked back with a deadpan face, already knowing what was wrong with the young woman.
“No.”
Skye sat up holding her arms in the air.
“But I should be out there with them! What if they get hurt?”
“They are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves and you are still on sick leave.”
Skye glanced bitterly at the purple bruises that covered her arms from the last mission.
“You’ll be more useful to them in here where you can observe. Now-”
Coulson handed her a pair of massive headphones.
“Get to observing.”
Skye grabbed the headphones with a obvious pout, she was trying to keep it cool but honestly with everything building up she was just on edge. All she wanted right now was for Jemma and the guys to come back as soon as possible. She had a lot of things that she needed to tell that Biochemist even though she chickened out before that didn’t mean she was done trying. Skye rolled back and forth in the rolling chair as they listened to the progression of their mission. Everything was going okay and they were almost finished when a loud crack rang through the equipment. Skye, who was off in her own world, jumped violently and cringed as her own healing wounds seared.
“Oh my God, what was that?”
Coulson and May were punching buttons frantically trying to get a visual on the situation while asking for safety conformation from the away team. Even with all of the equipment that they were using, they couldn’t get any information on the attackers. The only transmissions they were getting was from Ward and they were broken up through him trying to get the team back together. There was one more loud crack that caused the home team to pull their headphones off their ears and then everything went black, the cameras, the comms, and audio.
“Jem? Simmons? Ward? Fitz? Anyone!?”
Skye stood up and was now frantically trying to beat the equipment back to working order. Coulson and May looked at each other in a silent understanding before Melinda stood up and headed for the door. Skye tried to followed the older agent but was efficiently stopped when May grabbed her arms and dragged her into the seating area of The Bus and sat her down on the couch.
“I want to come with you!”
May turned around like a scolding parent
“No we don’t need you out there when we don’t even know what’s happening. You’re emotionally compromised and you will stay here. Understand?”
Skye crossed her arms, she felt like a child. A helpless child who couldn’t do anything at all and when May left her sitting on the couch she promptly grabbed a nearby coaster and flung it across the room in a fit. This went on for about an hour of her pacing back and forth between the recreational area and the surveillance room where Coulson was sitting. When nothing would happen again she would usually come through and throw something else at the wall. She wanted to do anything but cry as the panic welled up inside her chest making it hard for her to breathe.
After what seemed like days later the door of The Bus opened and Skye headed to the entrance just hoping that everyone was alive and okay. She looked outside into the pitch darkness but couldn’t hear or see anything until without warning she came face to face with Fitz. He looked exhausted but he barely acknowledged Skye as he practically pushed past her.
“Fitz! What are you doing?”
She kept looking for the rest but they hadn’t showed up, Fitz answered from what sounded like a closet.
“First Aid.”
The blood fell from her face and she rushed down the ramp trying to see what was going on. Ward met her at the bottom and Skye ran over to him, grabbing his arm.
“Where’s Jemma?”
He didn’t say anything he just gestured lightly with his head toward the darkness. She looked out desperately but it wasn’t until they were a couple of feet away that she could see May and Jemma’s faces slowly making their way to the ramp. Skye put a hand over her mouth as the scene became clearer in front of her. May was supporting the scientist who barely looked conscience as they came closer. Skye ran over in a hurry.
“Oh God, how bad is it? What happened?!”
She was aiming the questions at May but Simmons had lifted her head and answered instead.
“Just a few grazes. It’s not that bad.”
“A Few!?”
May shook her head as if telling Skye not to pursue it and continued to make her way with the scientist onto the bus with Skye following closely behind searching over Jemma’s tattered frame. They went straight to the lab where Fitz and Coulson were waiting with a pile of first aid scattered about. Skye went ahead of them and cleared a place on the counter for Jemma and helped gently helped her get to the spot. She wanted to yell and scream and make a big deal out of the fact that Jemma had just nearly died but she knew that would only make things worse so instead she pushed herself onto the table with Jemma and let the scientist lean on her while Fitz tended to her many cuts and bullet grazes. She didn’t know if Jemma was trying to make everyone feel better or if they had already given her some painkillers but she was the calmest of them all. The rest of the team were arguing and throwing around theories but Skye blocked them out and looked down at Simmons who was actually smiling through a split lip. Must be painkillers, Skye thought. Jemma winked and pushed on her a little.
“I told you I’d come back.’
“Next time, try to come back in one piece.”
Fitz was messing with Jemma’s arm and stuck her with a needle, the scientist cringed and Skye nearly smacked the engineer instinctively. Fitz back away a little.
“Easy. It’s just some anti biotic.”
“Sorry. I’m just on edge.”
“Yeah we all are.”
Fitz turned around and gave a thumbs up to Ward who walked over and as softly as he could picked up the little scientist away from Skye.
“Hey, what are you doing!?”
“Just taking her to her bunk. Relax.”
She walked after them all the way to Jemma’s bunk where ward placed her lightly on the small bed. He said something to her and then quietly left. Skye sat down cautiously on the edge of the bunk. Jemma fidgeted trying get comfortable, obviously the wave of painkillers were starting to wear off and her face paled every time she moved.
“Here, Jem, let me help you.”
Skye walked over and gently slid between Jemma and the wall, putting a pillow on her chest underneath the scientist’s head. Jemma leaned back and sighed and looked up at Skye.
“Thank you, Skye.”
She looked down at the scientist’s dirty face and messed up hair, suddenly she was feeling herself get emotional.
“Hey, Jem?”
“Yeah?”
“You know before you left and I told you to take care of yourself?”
“Yeah?”
“Well, what I was actually going to say was--”
“Excuse me, just wanted to drop these off.’
Fitz had walked in with a few damp towels, realizing that he had basically just interrupted something he diverted his eyes but still handed the cool rags to Skye who sighed loudly. He gave her an apologetic look and sneaked out. Skye took the rags and began to dap away the dirt on Jemma’s face.
“What were you going to say?”
“Nothing, never mind.”
“No what was it?”
Skye, brushed the hair away from the scientist’s forehead as she continued to stroke her face with the cool damp towel.
“I was about to say… I was just going to say that.. That I love you, Jemma Simmons.”
A smile crossed Jemma’s face as she heard the words but it was wiped away relatively quickly as a sob escaped from the woman behind her. Skye was still washing the dirt away and stroking her hair with one hand but the other was covering her face and muffling the short strangled cries.
“I was just going to say I love you but I couldn’t! And you went on that mission without knowing how much you mean to me! You could have died and you would have never known that I love you because I was to much of a coward to tell you!
The words came out in a string of broken fragments as Skye spilled everything to the scientist.
“I love you Jemma and I’m sorry!”
Jemma tried to pull herself up but gave up as her bones screamed and instead she used her one less cut up arm to reach behind her and pull the agent’s hand away. She wrapped Skye’s arm around herself and snuggled in the agent’s elbow, it was the closest thing she could come to a hug given the circumstances.
“I love you so much, Skye, you have no idea.”
“What if you had died today?”
“I didn’t.”
Yeah, but--”
“No, I promised you I would come back and I did, didn’t I?”
“Yeah, you did.”
Skye placed her lips on the scientist’s forehead and gently kissed her.
“I thought I lost you today. Please don’t ever do that again, I don’t think I could take it.”
“Deal.”
The two women laid there like that for a long time in silence in the dark just enjoying the safety of the other’s presence and when they were both nearly asleep, Jemma’s soft, sleepy voice interrupted the silence.
“Hey, Skye?”
“Yeah?”
“You’re not going to leave right? After I fall asleep?”
Skye held the scientist tighter.
“I’m not going anywhere, I’ll still be here when you wake up in the morning.’
“You promise?”
“I promise.”

Heat of The Moment: A Skimmons Fanfiction

Yeah, you guys know the drill lol

Skye walked forcefully down the corridor, she pushed her way through the doors and continued on towards the lab. From an outwards appearance she just looked angry, very angry but she wasn’t exactly sure whether what she was feeling was anger, worry, fear or something of a mix. She herself was exhausted from a long mission but right now Fitz’s voice was ringing over and over in her mind and all she wanted to do was to see the scientist for herself. The same stubborn scientist that she would swear was the reason she worked so hard to make it back to this ship. The same scientist who wasn’t there to greet her when she boarded.
Skye knew that Jemma was busy but still she had always been there when Skye came back on, always there with a bright smile and a big hug. Except this time when Skye showed up to a stressed out Fitz who was guzzling a hug cup of coffee and then he told her what was going on.
So here she was now, practically speed walking towards the lab doors with a face that could’ve rivaled May’s angry face in terms of intensity. She shoved the two doors open, probably a little harder than was necessary, and stopped in front of the lab tables. Simmons jumped and slightly moved her head away from the object in front of her until she saw who it was and then she looked up with a wilted smile.
Fitz wasn’t wrong, the scientist looked terrible and Skye nearly cringed at the state of the usually cheery woman. Jemma had obviously lost weight and her lab coat hung off her already small shoulders. There were bags under her eyes making them droop and they looked red from lack of sleep , her normally bright eyes were dark even when she was looking at Skye. Her hair was messed up and oily in appearance, Skye guessed that she hadn’t showered in a while. The scientist’s whole demeanor screamed neglect and too much work.
Skye, who had barged in with a fierce, almost angry attitude, took a step back and her features softened till she practically looked like an abandoned kitten standing a few feet away from Simmons.
“Skye! I didn’t realize you were back! I must have lost track of time.”
Her voice was tired and slow to the point where she almost didn’t sound the same.
“What the hell, Jemma?!”
The scientist looked taken aback
“Excuse me..”
“You look TERRIBLE!”
Jemma’s mouth fell open a little and she dropped the equipment she was using on the table and stepped back, crossing her arms.
“Um, I’m sorry?”
“When was the last time you ate, Jemma?”
She paused but didn’t leave enough time for The scientist to respond.
“You havn’t been taking care of yourself! When’s the last time you even got out of this lab? What the hell, Jemma.”
Skye was now leaning forward never taking her yes off of the wide eyed woman.
“I’ve been working, Skye.”
She spelled the words out in an unusually harsh tone
“I don’t know what Fitz told you but I assure you-”
“Fitz wasn’t lying! I mean, for god’s sake, have you even slept!?”
Jemma rolled her eyes in complete denial.
“Well, I’m sorry, okay, we’ve had an 0-8-4 and I haven’t had much time for anything else.”
They had both been easing their way back farther away from each other, Jemma kept her arms crossed while Skye couldn’t keep her arms from making gestures with every word she said.
“Well, surely you could get away from it long enough to eat or I don’t know, sleep!?”
“This artifact has huge scientific potential, okay, I can put myself on hold for a little while until I’ve studied it properly, I’m not nearly as important as this device, okay.”
“That’s not true!”
Jemma walked forward a little, obviously on the defense.
“Honestly, Skye I don’t know why you’re acting like this?!”
She knew after she said it that it was the worst possible thing for her to say especially when it came out so cruelly and so unlike herself. Skye’s arms fell to her side, her eyes were wide and hurt. She walked over to the edge of the table, never taking her eyes from the scientist.
“Because you’re important to me! Okay? You’re so freaking important to me!”
Skye’s voice broke and he lifted her hand to her mouth trying to maintain her composure while Jemma stared at her slightly hesitant. Skye continued, her voice lower and more controlled.
“And then I leave and you just stop taking care of yourself? Because of some dumb artifact?”
Jemma moved to protest but Skye cut her off a little more harshly than she had intended.
“SOME DUMB ARTIFACT.”
Skye took a deep breath and then continued slowly.
“You’re more important than that thing, okay? Your health is more important than some object, I don’t care how many advances it will make or whatever. It’s just not.”
Jemma nodded slowly, more in an attempt to calm the other woman down than anything.
“Thank you, Skye. But I’m a grown woman and my work is very important to me. I’m fine and this is really not worth your time or worry.”
“YES IT IS!”
The calm phase had ended and with that yell, they were both slightly leaning forward with fists clenched staring at each other.”
“WHY, SKYE? WHY ARE YOU MAKING SUCH A BIG DEAL OUT OF THIS?!”
And before she knew what was happening, the words fell from Skye’s mouth.
“BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!”
Skye practically gasped after she said it and threw a hand over her mouth, taking a few steps back. Jemma’s face softened and she had tears in her eyes, she took a step forward with a hand reached out slightly towards the agent.
“Skye I-”
“Don’t, just don’t. I’m sorry.”
Skye didn’t look back as she promptly left the lab with a hand still trying to keep the tears from coming. She walked away and Jemma slowly backed into one of the corners and wrapped her arms around herself, looking down at the floor. Those words that she had desperately wanted to hear from Skye but she had always imagined hearing them in a fit of passion, not in anger and certainly not with the hurt coming through Skye’s eyes.
A couple hours later and Jemma still hadn’t moved very far and she was still deep in thought but the artifact was now in the back of her mind. The lab doors opened slowly and she looked over to see Skye almost cautiously making her way into the room and never looking at the scientist in the eye.
“I-I made you some food, you know, if you wanna eat or whatever.”
Jemma smiled and slowly made her way around the tables to where Skye was standing, she felt terrible but she also felt excited and all she wanted to do was to hold Skye tightly and never have to let her go anymore. The agent turned around and made to leave when Jemma caught up with her and tugged on her arm, making her turn around.
“Look Jem, I’m sorry it was just in the heat of the moment”
The scientist’s face fell
“So, did you not mean it?”
Skye was still avoiding all eye contact and swaying back and forth uncomfortably.
“I didn’t say that.”
Jemma smiled, making even her extremely tired face brighten up, and took Skye’s hand in hers.
“Well, then that’s all that matters.’
“Wait, you mean-”
Before she could finish, Simmons was already dragging her down the hall by her hand, leading her to where the couch and laid out food was with more enthusiasm than should’ve been possible with as little sleep as the scientist had. She took the full plate of various food that Skye had made for her, while still holding on the other woman’s hand and sitting down on the couch. Skye sat next to her, still leaning away and looking at Simmons with confused, wide, kitten-like eyes.
“You mean, you’re not mad?”
Jemma smiled and then leaned over, saying softly
“Well, I kind of love you too.”
Her face was lit up despite her messy hair and sunken cheeks.
“And I’m really sorry.”
“It’s okay, I shouldn’t have gotten that angry.”
Jemma pulled her back on the couch and leaned on her shoulder.
“I’m glad you did, actually. Chip?”
She offered the plate up and Skye took a bit of food, a blissful smile invading her face. They stayed like that until the food was finished and by the end of the night both women were fast asleep, Skye sitting back and Jemma with her head laying on the agent’s lap.
